It is being reported this morning that both the New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies are seriously trying to sign Delonte West. He did not play at all this past season after being suspended by the Mavericks right before the season got started. No offers have been made as of yet, but sources say talks have gotten very serious the past couple days. Hit the jump for more.

The New York Knicks and the Memphis Grizzlies are on the lookout for a backup point guard and according to a source close to the situation, both teams have inquired about the services of Delonte West. The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, says talks between the two teams have ramped up recently, however they are termed as being ?preliminary at this point? with no offers presented as of yet.
As a Knicks fan personally, I am not sure how I feel about possibly landing West. At times he could contribute on the court, however at other times he was completely useless. Maybe we would be better off without him.
It's no secret that Samsung's working on a next-gen Galaxy Note, but little did we know that it might come in three screen sizes. We've previously seen the model number SM-N900 pop up in a number of places, and this time, our friend @techkiddy spotted the screen sizes alongside some new names on Zauba, a database that somehow tracks India's import and export shipments.
Unlike the rumors out there that only mention a single screen size, Zauba lists all 5.5-, 5.7- and 6-inch versions of this supposed Note III, and that these are all shipped to India "for R&D purpose." If true, this would match the multi-size strategy of the Galaxy Mega. Additionally, there are a handful of variant names here: SM-N900A, SM-N900AI, SM-N900P, SM-N900R4, SM-N900S, SM-N900T and SM-N900V. We're not quite sure what the differences are, but some of these are tagged with multiple screen sizes, so they're probably just packaged with different radios. Regardless, we have a feeling that JK Shin will tell us everything at IFA in September.

In a paper published this week, MIT scientists report on an amazing experiment in mind control: They've been able to implant the false memory of electric shocks in a mouse, so convincingly that the creatures react in fear as if the experience really happened.
The trick is actually very specific, and uses a technique that you may not expect: genetics. By activating special brain cells with gene therapy, targeting cells that react to light, scientists were able to make the mouse believe it remembered receiving an electric shock. The memories were triggered by shining a laser into the optically sensitive parts of the mouse brain via a fiber optic. The engineered mice reacted by freezing in fear because they remembered receiving a shock in this environment before--even through it hadn't actually happened.
The experiments are, of course, incredibly crude due to the limited mouse brain and the fact no one can ask a mouse what it's thinking about. That means you can stop worrying that this tech is going to be used to implant false memories, Inception-style, into humans. Instead, the research is going to help inform other studies into false memory phenomena in humans, which may shed light on diseases like schizophrenia. Understanding the human brain is a hot topic in research at the moment, with the president promising a multi-billion dollars in research money and global efforts to map the brain.
Google announced at its I/O event in May that a Glass Developer Kit is on the way so devs can build more advanced apps for its headset than the Mirror API supports, but it's still not quite ready. In a post on Google+, team member Alain Vongsouvanh encouraged developers to use the current Android SDK (API level 15) to try out ideas. The team has also posted code samples with examples like a stopwatch, compass and level, and says devs can access the device's accelerometer and play media. Two years ago, Anthony Weiner resigned amidst one of the most preposterous scandals in the history of politics. After repeatedly denying he sent shirtless pictures of himself in his underwear to no less than six women while his wife was pregnant, the Congressman finally owned up to his mistakes and resigned from the House of Representatives. Most observers thought his departure would mark the last time the general public ever heard from his again, but earlier this year, he launched a bid to secure the Democratic nomination for New York City Mayor. A lot of the recent polls even showed him leading, but now, his run has been hilariously beset by yet another sexting scandal.
The drama drama started back up again after The Dirty posted an interview with a woman who claimed she had an online relationship with Weiner after (not before, after) he resigned from Congress. A x-rated picture later followed, at which point Weiner decided to run out ahead of the story and admit what everyone already assumed. Here?s a portion of his confession, as per NBC News?
"I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have. While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong. This behavior is behind me.?
No less than three of Weiner?s opponents have called for him to resign from the race, but at this point, he has no plans on folding the tent back up. He?s in the race for the long haul, and he apparently doesn?t see why a few penis shots he sent before his comeback should in anyway alter that. Maybe that?s true. Maybe it?s not true. We?ll have to see whether other lawmakers would be willing to work with him moving forward.
Since the moment the first story went public, Weiner has been widely mocked. His press conferences have turned into zoos and his agenda has largely been muddled, which is a shame because he?s actually a pretty skilled politician, minus the penchant for sending dick pictures to women who aren?t his poor wife. Speaking of her, Huma Abedin also appeared at the press conference today, and once again, she vowed to stand by her husband and continue to work through all the mistakes he made. Say what you will about her decision, but she certainly has loyalty in spades.
Weiner could be done within a matter of days if more of these stories come out, or this could slowly fade away and he could end up the damn mayor of New York. We?ll keep you updated. Until then, try not to send any pictures of your penis to women you can?t completely trust.
